Mystery literature – Alternative books

In the alternative book shelves there are mystery books for every genre. One of these categories is lesbian murder books. As a genre, it is like any other: there are good authors and not so good, and then there are the really, really bad authors.
In many ways, lesbian murder books are fiction in the same category as harlequin romance. You have the hero, in this case a woman, the victim, in this case also a woman, and the bad guy, in this case usually a man. The better books have a good theme, are well written and keep you intrigued. The story is one of murder and mystery.
Lesbian murder mysteries have been around for a long time but it was only in the 1980s that they really became mainstream and available in most bookstores. They are lightweight reading and usually something that can be read in a few hours.
Next time you go to your books store, move away from the standard shelves and see what other genres you might find. There is lots of variety out there.
