Father Exorcist...The Story
SCAENA
The year is now.
The battle is as old as mankind.
Called upon by his earthly master, Pope Pius XIII, Father Michael must leave the confines of the Vatican in search of his age old nemesis, Cain.
The fight to begin the end times, as foretold in the Book of Revelations and conveyed to the children at Fatima, has begun in New York City. Father Michael, aided by a mortal man with untapped powers, must face Cain and his demonic horde on a world stage.
Let the apocalypse begin….
HEROICUS
FATHER MICHAEL : Born Liam in Limerick, Ireland over 1,000 years ago, he was a successful blacksmith with a beautiful wife and son. Christianity was sweeping the countryside, though the pagan ways were still strong. Liam and his family were murdered by a Cain possessed necromancer. As he lay dying in the town’s sole church, he vowed his eternal soul for the chance to avenge their deaths. Reborn as Father Michael, an imposing, terrifying figure granted immortality, his war against Cain and a multitude of hellspawn has spanned a millennium.
SHANE : A young, homeless artist who learns of his supernatural abilities when he encounters Cain in a dingy New York alley. Born an Impervious, he cannot be killed by the hands of a demon. An avowed atheist, he becomes a reluctant participant in the clash with Cain.
AIMEE CARTER : Shane’s girlfriend. She works as an assistant for the Mayor of New York. A lover of punk rock with a serious eye on a successful career in politics, she becomes an unwitting pawn in Cain’s game. She also possibly houses the reincarnated spirit of Father Michael’s murdered wife, Ailis.
MOSIGNOR STANTON : The ailing, aged head of St. Luke’s Church in downtown New York. One of the handful of clergymen who knows of Father Michael’s existence. Father Michael assisted him with tracking down a serial killing demon in the early 1960’s.
POPE PIUS XIII : The residing head of the Catholic Church. He sees Father Michael as a necessary monster in the fight against evil. He called upon Father Michael’s services only one other time, twenty five years earlier.
MAYOR SPINELLI : Dynamic Mayor of New York. A hard nosed politician whose body is possessed by Cain to help trigger Armageddon.
AILIS: Liam’s wife in Ireland, violently murdered in her home.
KERWYNN : Liam’s young son, also murdered.
ADVERSARIUS
CAIN : The immortal shadow of Cain, son of Adam and Eve and murderer of his brother. Forced by God to live a life of eternal damnation, he is in league with Satan to create havoc and mayhem. Disappearing for decades at a time, he rises again and again to murder and instill fear in the hearts of man. He wears the bodies of helpless victims, disposing of their souls into the nowhere of purgatory. He has the ability to create demons from human flesh and open the very gates of hell. Ruthless and powerful, his voracious appetite for death has brought him to blows with Father Michael dozens of times throughout history.
CONDITOR
Kevin Sheehan was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and remains a New York resident with his wife and children. A graduate of Iona College, the early 90’s recession, grunge music, corporate disaster and now global terrorism, he finds solace in creating dark, fantastic worlds with his mind (and the help of his trusty computer).
He is the author of the critically acclaimed, dark suspense novel, “Should Old Acquaintance Be Rubbed Out”. His horror shorts have appeared in dozens of magazines. Father Exorcist is the continuation of the e-serial that was started in 2001 and followed by thousands of loyal readers. This novella is just the first of many projects that will follow the past, present and future of Father Michael and his war against evil. Kevin is currently working on a full length horror novel set in the wilds of Alaska.
